Medical Volunteers International provides medical care for people in need. More than 1 Million people are forced to leave their homes but Europes borders are closed. MVI tries to help those in need with access to medical aid when needed and support if wanted. But MVI is running on donations only – with your donation we can keep our work running and support People on the Move when needed.

I am a doctor and fled Ukraine in the summer of 2022. Since then I am a member of the regional group Hamburg.

I have learned many things from this amazing group, especially from the international volunteers, doctors, psychologists, nurses and others who worked with MVI in Lesvos.

What is your role within Medical Volunteers International?

I have worked as an interpreter with the MVI team in Lesvos, Greece for almost a year and it was an honor to work with them.

What is Medical Volunteers International for you?

MVI is for me an organisation which help refugees in many countries in Europe. As a refugee I know how important the work of MVI is, that is why I decided to cooperate with this organisation and I will continue with this.

What is your role within Medical Volunteers International?

I am part of the MVI Hamburg local group and helped at some events. I am working as a nurse in Hamburg and I would like to volunteer for MVI abroad soon.

MVI is for me: an organisation that does purposeful and meaningful work where laws and governments fail.

What is your role within Medical Volunteers International?

I was the medical coordinator for MVI on Lesvos in 2019 and since 2021 I’m member of the MVI Board on a volunteer base. I also manage the quality management of our projects.

For me, MVI is: medical help exactly where it is urgently needed in order to stand up for the conviction that health is a human right for all people.

What is your role within Medical Volunteers International?

I was in Lesbos twice in 2020 as a doctor and I am currently the contact person for the Hamburg regional group.

MVI has always been such an inspiring and hardworking group for me, besides I love how the compassion, talent and positiveness of the group help them do their best for the patients and for their mission!

What is your role within Medical Volunteers International?

I‘ve been volunteering in Medical Volunteers International in Greece from 2020 to 2021 as a translator and interpreter in Farsi and English.

Why donations? We depend on donations to be able to provide medical equipment and medicines. We keep our administrative costs as low as possible. With your help, we can provide unique and emergency medical care for people in need. About half of our patients are unregistered refugees and would remain medically underserved without our collective help. That is why your donations are so important!
