Together *WeCare – Securing Digital Psychosocial Counseling for Refugees!

We care for you!

*WeCare – free psychosocial online offer for people with refugee experience

With the *WeCare project, we are creating a space for digital advice and support services.

The *WeCare programme offers refugees and asylum seekers in Germany a free of charges, low-threshold, digital access to psycho-social counseling. The programme is aimed specifically at people who are new to Germany, feel overwhelmed or need support with everyday issues. Together with trauma-sensitive counselors and language mediators, we create a safe digital space in which we can work together to find suitable solutions for stressful situations and concerns and refer people to additional support services.

Why is that important?

Around 85% of the more than 3 million refugees living in Germany have had traumatic experiences, and around 30% suffer from depressive disorders or PTSD. Although there are numerous contact points for psychosocial counselling in Germany, these are often associated with long waiting times.

Our WeCare service acts as a kind of bridging infrastructure that can help stabilise those seeking advice. At the same time, there are many initial reception centres or shared accommodation facilities that have no access to psychosocial centres at all. Here, WeCare is often the only point of contact.

Our counselling sessions take place online so that the service can be accessed regardless of the place of residence or accommodation. At the same time, we try to locate possible counselling centres in the vicinity of the person seeking advice as early as the initial contact stage and refer them there if necessary.

We are now able to offer WeCare in ten different languages. We have already provided over 250 counselling sessions since summer 2024. We can currently arrange our counselling appointments within two weeks

Are you suffering from mental health problems, severe stress and don’t know where to get help?*
We will listen to you and look for suitable solutions together or arrange for you to be referred to other additional help centers in your area.
You have the option of talking to a woman or a man. The counseling sessions take place online in the presence of a translator.
